The details that
matter to you.

01 / ACCOMPANYING FAMILY

Plan the move together.

A spouse, parents and eligible children may be included through dependant applications. Age, relationship and individual circumstances affect eligibility and documentation. Check children’s eligibility, including stepchildren and disability arrangements, before submitting.

Children studying in Sarawak need the applicable Student Pass arrangements.

02 / MEDICAL PREPARATION

Prepare for your health requirements.

Arrange the required medical examination and report in Sarawak, with government clinic endorsement. Local medical insurance is compulsory for all applicants, regardless of age.

03 / BUYING A HOME

A property purchase is optional.

Participants are allowed to purchase a residential house in Sarawak at a minimum price of RM600,000 per unit in Kuching and RM500,000 per unit in other divisions, subject to the Land Code (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance, 1998 and the Land (Market Value of Property for Foreign Acquisition) Direction, 1998, as amended, and the required approvals.

04 / FIXED DEPOSIT WITHDRAWAL

Use part of your deposit.

After one year in the programme, you may apply to withdraw up to 50% for permitted house or car purchases, medical expenses or children’s education in Sarawak.

Supporting evidence and approval are required. At least RM250,000 must remain in the programme fixed deposit.

05 / WORK & BUSINESS

Check the permissions first.

S-MM2H does not permit full-time employment. Approved professional part-time work is limited to 20 hours a week and requires the relevant state approval.

Investment or joint-venture plans have their own conditions and permissions. Discuss your plans before committing.
